Stephen Myler and Luther Burrell will make their first starts for England when the team face a CONSUR XV in a non-cap game in Uruguay on Sunday.

The Northampton Saints pair were called up to the squad for this summer’s tour to South America as injury replacements and have been included in the starting line-up for the match in Montevideo.

Burrell and Myler are amongst the seven players who have been handed their first outings for the national side as head coach Stuart Lancaster makes changes from the team which beat the Barbarians 40-12 at Twickenham on Sunday.

“We have made a lot of changes from the Barbarians game as this tour is about giving players opportunities to show their talent,” said Lancaster.

“However, the objective is to build on that performance to keep our game moving forward. The players understand this responsibility and are looking forward to the challenge.

“Everyone involved will need to hit the ground running in Uruguay because we expect the Sudamerica side to play with a lot of skill and physicality in front of a passionate home crowd.”

Tom Wood captains the side, while Ben Foden is handed the chance to impress at full back after nearly a year out of the international fold. Lee Dickson and future Saints prop Alex Corbisiero are also included amongst the replacements.
