Six Nations 2014, England v Wales: Repeat of car park walk will ensure ...

“They will have put in a lot of attention to detail. Obviously listening

to some of things they are doing behind the scenes, we are going to have to

be at our best, that is the be all and end all.”

Wales are fully aware that they will be facing a very different England side

from last year, with only six starters remaining, and that Sunday will be

the last meeting between the sides at Twickenham before the Rugby World Cup

pool match at the ground in September 2015.

“England are a better team than last year and any bad experience, as long as

you learn from it, can be turned into a big positive,” McBryde said.

“That result in Cardiff could work against us. We’ll be up against it. The

hottest fires forge the toughest steel. We have to embrace the game because

it won’t get any easier at the World Cup.”

England’s players are looking forward to their walk through the Twickenham car

park.

“It was nice having that buzz going into the stadium,” prop Joe Marler said of

the Ireland match. “It will be good to do that again.”

However, lock Courtney Lawes is ready for some flak from the visiting Welsh

fans. “I’m going to imagine we are going to get a bit of stick,” he said.

“It depends what sort of player you are. Some get angry and it gets them up

for the game, I’m just the type of person who says: ‘OK, that’s your

opinion, I’m just going to get on with my game.’ ”

Mike Catt, England assistant coach, said: “The atmosphere for the Ireland game

was especially loud. It was very impressive.

“That’s why you play the game, and exactly what Twickenham is all about.

It’s great to see all the branding and the flags and the players all know

that the nation is behind us.

“This place creates a hell of a buzz. Everyone is really engaged, the fans

are, but at the end of the day, it all comes down to what happens on the

pitch anyway.

“We must continue to show what we can do with our performances, which are

getting better and better.”

There was good news for England when lock Joe Launchbury was passed fit after

missing Friday’s training with a stiff back.
