âWe did what we set out to do: get out of pool and into the semi-finals. We
have areas to work on and we will have to get better for the next game.
âWe know we werenât perfect but we got the result we needed. We wanted to keep
playing and keep to our processes and to our game-plan. It worked in parts
but we will go back to the drawing board for the semis.â
Centre Emily Scarratt kicked Englandâs other eight points but Canada scored
two tries through Karen Paquin and Kayla Mack. Kicker Magali Harvey failed
to convert either but did find the target with a late penalty which levelled
the scores and left England happy to run down the clock in the last five
minutes.

very aware of what we needed to do,â Hunter said. âIt was a fantastic credit
to the girls out there. There was a real show of hard determination when
Canada kept coming and coming. At times our defence was outstanding and
ultimately you need that bit of grit in your side if you are going to go on
and win a World Cup.â
