Three-year ban for rugby player

A Welsh rugby player has been banned for three years

A Welsh rugby player has been suspended from all sport for three years following an anti-doping violation, UK Anti-Doping has confirmed.

Christopher Edwards, 29, committed two violations for the possession and use of anabolic steroids and is banned from all competition until April 27, 2017.

Edwards plays for Tredegar, who finished bottom of WRU League Two East last season.

Information regarding the offence was provided by a member of the public and Edwards’ failure to promptly admit wrong-doing led to an aggravated suspension.
