SAM Warburton is not normally seen wearing his pants on his head.
But thereâs a first for everything as far as the Wales rugby star is concerned – as this photo proves.
Donât worry, he hasnât gone mad – heâs supporting an eight-year-old Cardiff schoolgirl who desperately needs a bone marrow transplant.
Hollie Clarke, from Roath Park, has been in and out of hospital receiving regular blood and platelet transfusions.
Her brother Sam has been found not to be a match for her as a potential bone marrow donor, so the family have decided to launch an appeal to find one, and raise awareness for others.
Sam Warburton, rugby commentator Jonathan Davies, and former athlete Jamie Baulch have all helped with the campaign.
Hollie’s uncle, Matthew Clark, came up with the pants idea.
He is reported as saying: âHollie is a great little kid. Whilst on FaceTime with her in hospital to help keep her spirits up, I once put my pants on my head to cheer her up.â
People are being asked by the family to put their pants on their head and visit Facebook, Twitter and the website helphollie.com
People aged between 16 and 30 are being urged to register with the Anthony Nolan trust, and they can do so online via helphollie.com
People will be asked to provide a saliva sample, which they can return in a prepaid envelope sent to them in the post from the Trust.
They can then be added to a database of potential donors.
Laura is reported as saying: âEven if you arenât in the age range, put your pants on anyway! Hollie also needs regular blood and platelet transfusions.
âRegularly donating your blood and platelets makes a huge difference to those who need it most.â
