Rugby: League restructure sees Oakham RFC move divisions

Just as local rugby fans were getting used to the fun of the Oakham v Stamford derby match a restructure of the leagues has seen the two sides split up again.

The structure for the English Clubs Championship Midlands Leagues for next season was confirmed last week.

Stamford will continue to play in Midlands Two East (North) with: Ashbourne, Ashby, Bakewell Mannerians, Coalville, Dronfield, Loughborough, Market Bosworth, Matlock, Melbourne, Nottingham Casuals and West Bridgford.

But Oakham have switched leagues and will now play in Midlands Two East (South), facing the new opponents of: Biggleswade, Dunstablians, Leicester Forest, Lutterworth, Market Harborough, Northampton Old Scouts, Oady Wyggestonians, Olney, Peterborough, Stewarts Lloyds and Wellingborough.

Oundle, who were promoted last season will play in Midlands Three East (South) along with: Daventry, Long Buckby, Northampton BBOB, Northampton Casuals, Northampton Mens Own, Queens, Rugby St Andrews, Rushden Higham, St Ives, Stockwood Park and Vipers.

Demoted Deepings join Bourne and Stamford College Old Boys in Midlands Four East (South) along with: Bedford Swifts, Brackley, Corby, Kempston, Old Newtonians, St Neots, Sileby Town, Thorney and Westwood.
