Former Welsh Rugby Union chief executive David Moffett has arranged a roadshow around Wales to garner the views of the countryâs grassroots supporters.
Moffett has invited all clubs and Welsh rugby supporters to join the former WRU boss and a panel of experts at a series of debates on the current state of Welsh rugby.
Moffett has organised a debate in each of the four regions plus north Wales in a bid to find out the views of those that are at the coalface of Welsh club rugby.
The first of those is at Blackwoodâs Glan-yr-Afon Park on Wednesday and he has pledged all present will get their say.
Since returning to Wales, Moffettâs ambitions is to be voted onto the WRU board before becoming chairman.
âMy aim is to do something thatâs not done enough, which is to engage at a meaningful level with the grassroots of rugby,â said Moffett.
âI want a full, frank and open discussion about the future of Welsh rugby â regardless of whether people agree or disagree with me, like or dislike me.
âIt all starts with the clubs, as they are the Welsh Rugby Union, and I hope to provide them with a voice.
âThere is a great deal of concern at the moment, with yet another League change coming next season.
âHow can you plan for the future with that happening?
âThe clubs are looking for stability, to ease the financial burden and for some real leadership.
âThey also want to hear the facts about the latest issues threatening the future of Welsh rugby.”
The Blackwood debate starts at 7.30pm. Entrance is free and places are available on a first come, first served basis.
