The ex-St Helens scrum-half announced he was quitting the London club earlier this month, just weeks after joining the backroom staff, and claimed it was because the club wanted to make him part-time.
On Sunday, the Broncos were more damning, saying in a statement: “The London Broncos would like to clarify the situation concerning Sean Long.
“Unfortunately, Sean’s performances as an assistant coach did not meet the professional levels expected at the club. As a result, his position as full-time assistant is no longer continuing.
“Whilst this decision had to be made by the club, we do wish Sean the best for the future.”
It is the second time that Long has left a club under a cloud. Last July Wigan terminated his contract, just three months into his job as an assistant coach after he failed to “integrate into the disciplined and already high-performing culture at the club”.
Long, 37, who brought his colourful and often controversial playing career to a halt due to injury in August 2011, is now looking for a fifth coaching job in 12 months.
He resigned as assistant at Salford last April and, after his brief stay at Wigan, he ended the season as football manager at Featherstone.
He was also assistant coach of Samoa in the 2013 World Cup.
London have appointed Australian Joe Grima as the official assistant to head coach Tony Rea.
