Dan Browne scored two tries for London Welsh
JUSTIN Burnell blasted his London Welsh side for conceding a try in their 107-5 victory at Chinnor.
But the Exilesâ head coach still felt there were far more postives than negatives from the Oxford-based clubâs first pre-season match.
âWe conceded a try,â said Burnell. âFirst and foremost, why did we concede a try?
âWithout being disrespectful, should we really be conceding a try against Chinnor? No, we shouldnât.
âAlso when there was the simplest two v one, or three v two, that final pass and that execution was sometimes missing.
âIs that down to depth or bad skills? Something as simple as good decision-making in those situations will make a massive difference.
âBut there were far more positives than negatives; what thrilled me the most was the spirit the game was played in.
âThat came off the back of winning the collisions and the set-piece.
âYou can only play that style of rugby if youâre on the front foot and fortunately today we won the collisions and we were on the front foot.
âIt was a fantastic exercise and weâve learnt a lot from it, and weâre very grateful to Chinnor.â
