AN England rugby star will be opening a traditional village day in Codicote tomorrow (Saturday).
Saracens player Charlie Hodgson will be the VIP guest at Codicote Village Day, which will take place on Saturday, starting with a parade along the High Street.
Kicking off at 1pm, the procession will end at Codicote Sports and Social Club in Bury Lane.
There will also be more than 100 stalls selling cakes, sweets, plants, jewellery and face painting.
There will also be a float contest, baby competition, dog show and country dancing.
Debi Gillard, village day committee member, encouraged everyone to come along.
She said: âIt is a great day out. It is free and there is lots going on for all ages. It is just a good community event.â
Pick up a copy of this weekâs paper, out now, for a coupon for a free half pint of bitter or lager on the Village Day at The Goat pub.

Look out for the Welwyn Hatfield Timesâs promotions team at Codicote Village Day and see next weekâs paper, out Wednesday, for pictures of the event.
