Welsh sporting star Non Evans will be part of the commentary team for the IRB Womenâs Rugby World Cup 2014, S4C have announced.
The channel is bringing viewers free-to-air coverage of the tournament from Monday, August 11. Evans, the former Wales rugby captain, has 87 caps to her name and will be joined by Alun Jenkins on Cwpan Rygbiâr Byd 2014.
Speaking about presenting the highlights, Evans said: âItâs great to be commentating in Welsh again on S4C. Itâs marvellous seeing the coverage on TV â this veil only help the game develop even more.â
The 40-year-old from Llanelli, who has also represented Wales in judo, weightlifting and freestyle wrestling, is impressed with the improvements in womenâs rugby.
âSince I retired four years ago at the end of the 2010 World Cup, the standard of play has risen to another level, in terms of both handling skills and fitness,â she enthused.

As for who she thinks could win the World Cup, she added: âItâs going to be an interesting tournament, as the teams have all closed up in terms of quality.
âNew Zealand are still one of the favourites of course, but Ireland, England and France are all in the mix.
âWales have had a difficult group, with France, Australia and South Africa all pretty big names.
âThey have not been taking their chances and a few errors have cost them. But theyâre a young team and will get better,â she concluded.
Cwpan Rygbiâr Byd 2014 starts on August 11 at 10.30pm.
