FURTHER tributes have been paid to a rugby player who died on a stag weekend.
Austen Howells was found in his room at Bredbury Hall, Stockport, on Saturday afternoon.
Now his former club, Tonmawr RFC, has paid tribute to him on social network Facebook.
The club posted: “Tonmawr RFC is sad to hear the news of the sudden passing of former player and coach Austen Howells.Â
“The club’s deepest sympathy go to the family at this difficult time.”
Mr Howells played and took on a coaching role for the Pelenna Valley side from 2005 to 2011.
Mr Howells, who was originally from Maesteg, had recently returned to his home club to take on a role as backs coach.
A spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Police said that officers attended the hotel on Saturday afternoon.
“(They)Â discovered the body of a man in his 40s,” she said.
âPolice are working to establish how the man died but at this stage, do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances.â
A spokeswoman for Stockport Coroner’s Court said they were informed of the death on Monday.
She said an inquest had not yet been opened, but was due to be this week.Â
