Ireland coach Joe Schmidt has named three uncapped players in his 34-strong squad to play three Tests at home in November.
New Zealander Schmidt had to contend with a hefty injury list in naming his first group since being appointed coach.
They play Tests against Samoa and Australia before facing the All Blacks in Dublin on November 24 in the last game of the year for both teams.
Fullback Dave Kearney and prop Jack McGrath, both of Leinster, are new faces, along with Munster loose forward James Coughlan.
Missing selection are seven regular squad members: winger Simon Zebo and forwards Stephen Ferris, Richardt Strauss, Tommy O’Donnell, Jordi Murphy, Donnacha Ryan and Iain Henderson.
Veteran centre Brian O’Driscoll, in what he has said will be his final season before retirement, is included.
Paris-based Racing Metro first five-eighth Jonathan Sexton is the only player from a club outside Ireland named in the squad.
Schmidt guided Irish province Leinster to two European Cup triumphs before succeeding Declan Kidney as national coach.
“The squad combines players who have shown form in the domestic season mixed with those who have a proven record at international level,” Schmidt said.
“As always there were some very difficult decisions. Some players have had limited opportunity to impress due to injury and others have performed very well and it was difficult to leave them out.”
