Dave Attwood and Kyle Eastmond could both feature for Bath Rugby in Friday night’s Aviva Premiership derby against Gloucester after being released from England duty today.

Lock Attwood and centre Eastmond have been at a training camp with Stuart Lancaster’s national squad this week but the duo are among the ten players who will return to their clubs this weekend.

Their release, however, does not automatically mean they will miss out on selection for the first of England’s QBE internationals against Australia on Saturday, November 2.

Prop Davey Wilson remains unavailable for Bath after being retained by the England EPS squad.

Gloucester duo Freddie Burns and Matt Kvesic could also feature at The Rec having also been released from international duty.

England head coach Lancaster said: “It has been good to get into camp and spend some time with the players. I have met all of them individually and today they had forwards’ and backs’ meetings and a positive training session at West Park Leeds.

“Under the terms of the Elite Player Squad agreement we are releasing ten players back, some of whom will play in the Aviva Premiership this weekend.

“There are still places to play for and we won’t finalise the side to play Australia until much closer to the game, not least because of the matches this coming weekend, so it’s a chance for those going back to stake a final claim for inclusion in the 23.”
