Welsh Dragons must fight for caps

Wales arrived for two Tests in Japan with their most inexperienced squad in history for what is regarded as a development tour.

But even against a team 10 places below them in the IRB world rankings, McBryde is determined to protect the value of the Three Feathers jersey.

He said: “I know there will be difficult conversations and we will take each case individually. But a cap is still something that should be earned, it’s not a given.”

Wales have 10 uncapped players within their 27-strong squad and a further nine who have appeared in fewer than four internationals.
