The match which will take place at 1.50pm on the 16th will provide the Twickenham crowd with a welcome break from the World Club 7s and recognise the unbreakable link between the Services and rugby union.
And as Rugby For Heroes prepares to take on the British Army at Twickenham, fundraising chief Alan Lamb is busy pulling all his strings to ensure a star-studded side lines up on the day.

The charity, launched by Lamb, his son Worcester Warriors fly-half – Ryan, Anthony Allen and Mike Tindall supports servicemen and women with their transition back into the civilian life.
When British Army 7s boss John Voss was charged with finding an opponent for his side on World Club 7s weekend, Rugby for Heroes was top of the list.
Lamb junior and Allen are in the thick of pre-season, while Tindall’s recent retirement could make it tough to persuade him into a run-out, but Alan is not deterred.
“It was John (Voss) who approached me and of course we wouldn’t turn anything like this down,” he said.
“He is putting in a team himself made up of military people but it would be nice to put a couple of stars in as well. It is down to me to get a few names to play – I have asked a few people.
“When you get to veterans rugby it gets a bit difficult because they don’t want to be playing 7s, especially on a pitch the size of Twickenham!
“It is right in the middle of pre-season but I have put the question out there so we are hoping to get a couple of big names involved.”
Lamb knows the charity has much to gain from the spectacle and he is hoping an entertaining game of 7s will convince spectators to dig deep for an important cause.
“The obvious thing is that the awareness is fantastic,” he added.
“To have your name involved with Twickenham and the World Club 7s is fantastic and the opportunity to raise some funds on the day as well, which would help greatly.”
As for his son, Lamb is happy to report the 28-year-old is looking forward to his first full season at Sixways as he seeks to propel Worcester back into the Aviva Premiership at the first time of asking.
“He is looking forward to it but he is not so looking forward to the pre-season training! It is a new club and he has got a long future there so he is happy,” said Lamb.
“The last six or seven weeks of the season, I think, he was involved and the club started to play some decent rugby. I think a spell in the Championship is not going to do them any harm.
“They have kept the nucleus of the side and the new signings coming their looking sharp in training – so I’ve heard!”
