Rugby star Ian Gough charged with assaulting former Miss Wales at pop star ...

Wales international rugby star Ian Gough has been charged with assaulting the fiancée of Dane Bowers at the pop star’s home.

Gough, 37, is accused of assaulting Sophia Cahill – a former Miss Wales – at a house in Kingswood Way, South Croydon in January.

Gough, who made 64 appearances for Wales and currently plays for London Irish but is set to rejoin the Dragons, has appeared at Croydon Magistrates’ Court charged with assault by beating.

Gough denies the charge and will stand trial before magistrates on July 29.
