PREVIEW: Bristol Rugby v Rotherham Titans

BRISTOL Rugby will aim to record a third win of the season over Rotherham when the sides clash in the British Irish Cup quarter-final this evening.

Bristol beat the Titans 36-26 at the Memorial Stadium in November, before winning 34-26 at Clifton Lane last month – both games in the GKIPA Championship.

Andy Robinson’s table-toppers take on Lee Blackett’s third-placed side at the Memorial Stadium for a place in the semi-final and a home game against either Leeds or Plymouth Albion.

Bristol have made seven changes to the side that thrashed Ealing 82-28 five days ago, with Auguy Slowik, Ben Mosses, Callum Braley, Ollie Hayes, Jason Hobson, Joe Joyce and Mitch Eadie coming into the side. Hobson makes his first start since September after eye and knee injuries.

Bristol academy coach Matt Sherratt, who will be running the team along with forwards coach Matt Ferguson this evening as director of rugby Robinson and coach Sean Holley watch on, said: “It’s very pleasing to be at home on a Friday night.

“The Mem has got a special edge to it on a Friday night. I think the fans enjoy Fridays – I know the players enjoy Friday night lights. Home advantage is massive – and Rotherham are a team we’re familiar with, so we were pretty pleased with the draw.”
