It does not seem to be that long ago when England last unveiled their new Sevens kit but they have a new strip and it will make its debut on May 3 at the Glasgow leg of the IRB Sevens World Series. In the past England have not been afraid to go ‘out of the box’ with their kit design, but this one seems a tad more conservative though it does have an element of the circus about it. In the past England have gone for a ‘Tequila Sunrise’ shirt and then last year opted for a kaleidoscope version.
This new shirt is more conservative and features a nod to St.George and the George Cross Medal with the shirt featuring numerous crosses on it. The away shirt is similar and a distinct step away from previous more eye-catching versions.
It seems that not everybody is that chuffed with the new shirt.
The new England 7s strip is, evidently, covered with crosses inspired by St George and the George Cross Medal – marketing bollocks.
