Russell Crowe 1. Reporter 0?

YOU donât mess with Russell Crowe.
One Irish journo learnt that lesson the hard way after she took on the actor and lost.
The Aussie actor labelled reporter Niamh Walsh a âplonkerâ on Twitter last night for her embarrassing interview âfailâ after she dared to suggest Crowe didnât know where Ireland was.
While on the red carpet for the premiere of his new film Noah, Walsh asked Crowe if he would ever consider bringing his team the South Sydney Rabbitohs to Ireland to play against their national team.
âWell you see, the South Sydney Rabbitohs play Rugby League,â Crowe said, âwhich is more of a hybrid version of the game.â

And it all went downhill from there.
âI know, but just as kind of a test match to get the two loves together?â she replied.
To which Crowe added: âYou understand what Iâm saying? Itâs a different sport, rugby union is a 15 man sport, rugby league is a 13 man sport. Totally different rules. But thanks for bringing it up.â
When Walsh didnât like his response, she brought up the fact that he had earlier referred to Ireland as being âin the UKâ, but that didnât end well either.
Watch the below video to see how it panned out:
After Walsh took another dig at Crowe on Twitter and labelled herself a âfearless journoâ, Crowe decided to fire back:
Hey @niamhie11 are you watching the match? Oh wait you know nothing about rugby!!! Lol

However, Walsh found little support among her Irish followers when she tried yet again to reiterate Croweâs lack of knowledge of Ireland.
@niamhie11 @russelcrowe best leave it off love. Put the spade down and step away from the hole.

And one final word from Crowe. HE LOVES IRELAND.
I know Ireland is a sovereign nation. You can imply I dont love Ireland but it wont stick, love the place, love the people.
