Carl Kirwan
CARL Kirwan is desperate to make amends when London Welsh host his former club Rotherham Titans at the Kassam Stadium on Sunday (2.30).
New Greene King IPA Championship leaders Rotherham arrive on a ten-match league and cup winning streak.
Welsh, on the other hand, dropped to second after a shock 36-15 loss at Plymouth Albion last Saturday.
Flanker Kirwan, 22, is determined to bounce back against his old club.
âI know quite a few of the boys that are still there. They are doing really, really well.
âI want to get out there and put in a good performance in.
âItâs massive for the game. We want to be top of that table. Thatâs where we think we belong.â
Welsh never recovered from a poor first half at Brickfields where Plymouth deservedly prevailed.
âIt was a bad performance last week and we were not happy with that at all,â said Kirwan.
âThere are a lot of boys who made individual errors. We can only blame ourselves and look to put that right.â
Kirwan says Welsh can make a real statement.
âWe want to show the league that we are still a force,â he added.
