Man charged over Halifax rugby union player death

A man has been charged with killing Halifax rugby union player Andrew Feather, West Yorkshire Police said.


Mr Feather died after being punched at the Liquid nightclub in Commercial Street, Halifax in the early hours of Sunday morning.


He had been out celebrating a match victory with teammates.


Dale McLean, 25, from Huddersfield, is to appear before Halifax magistrates on Wednesday charged with manslaughter.


Mr Feather had been with the rugby club for more than 10 years and had been club secretary for a year.
