Wigan 12 - Huddersfield 30: Murphy an Aar raiser

“Wigan did well to hold up Joe Wardle over the line and also prevent Grix getting away a pass for a certain try”

He scored a beauty to take his tally to 39 as he handed off Shaun Lunt, jinked past Scott Grix and outpaced Danny Brough in a 40-metre race.

The England winger also set up Wigan’s first try, palming down a Blake Green kick for Sam Powell to touch down.

In between the two tries, Charnley popped up with two try-saving tackles on Brough and Lunt, as Huddersfield raided the Warriors line.

Wigan did well to hold up Joe Wardle over the line and also prevent Grix getting away a pass for a certain try.

But Huddersfield are made of sterner stuff than previous Giants sides and captain Brough created their first try, dinking a kick for Murphy to race on to and score.

Luke Robinson set up their second, sending in Jason Chan.

Brough added both conversions but missed two drop-goal attempts, leaving the sides locked at 12-12 at half-time.

Brett Ferres touched down early in the second half but Brough missed the conversion and an easy penalty.

But the Giants went for the kill with two more great individual tries.

Grix chased his own kick for the first and then Murphy darted past three players to score, Brough kicking both and adding a late penalty.
