Waterford City RFC sells winning ticket in IRFU Your Club Your Country Grand Draw


Waterford City RFC sold one of just ten Your Club Your Country winning tickets which were drawn by IRFU President Pat Fitzgerald at a ceremony at the Aviva Stadium recently. The 2013 Your Club Your Country Grand Draw has raised over €530,000 for the 142 clubs who participated in the scheme this year.


Ian Jacob won a spa weekend in Carton House which includes two nights BB, dinner in the Linden Tree Restaurant and spa treatments for two people. The ticket was sold by Waterfold City RFC.


The IRFU and its partners supply the prizes for the Your Club Your Country Grand Draw which allows clubs to sell up to 1,000 tickets at €10 per ticket and retain 100% of the revenue from tickets sales. The fundraising competition is open to all eligible rugby clubs in Ireland and Northern Ireland.


Pat Fitzgerald, President of the IRFU, commented, “The 2013 Your Club Your Country Grand Draw has again proven to be a successful vehicle for club fundraising. Almost €2,000,000 has been raised for clubs by clubs through the scheme since 2011.”
